Imagine this: you are a subsurface policy officer at a municipality in the province of South Holland. Concerned residents have approached a councillor about the geothermal plans in their residential area. After having received questions from the councillor, your executive councillor turns to you for advice.
How will you deal with the situation? Where can you go for more information? And who can answer which questions? Who is actually responsible for what?
The province of South Holland submitted these and other questions from municipalities and environmental services to the Geological Survey of the Netherlands (GDN). They suggested organising knowledge meetings on geothermal energy in the built environment. Two meetings were organised last year by the province and GDN’s Advisory Group for Economic Affairs (TNO AGE). The third online meeting will take place on Thursday 20 January 2022 .
